Day 10: Festival Winding Down and First Party in Cannes

Yesterday was another slow morning me and Kristin G. went and got Nutella and banana crepes around 11 and then we went to see Nina Wu which I have very mixed feelings about. It was a Taiwanese psychological drama and I was very on board at the beginning because I thought it was a good representation of how directors abuse their actresses and very beautiful but I think the gratuitous rape scenes were unwarranted and exploitive coming from a male director.

Then me, Kristin G., Caroline, and Gillian explored further into Cannes and got these really good cheap paninis at this really cute restaurant and walked around the shops a little bit. Then me and Caroline came back to the AmPav to write our reviews with little success because people started talking to us. I met a director who just got his film picked up for distribution and gave me some of his chips. Then Caroline invited me over to talk to the people from London who work for Rain Dance who bought us drinks and nachos and then suddenly it was 8:00 pm.

Then we rushed back to JLP to get ready and we actually got into a party on the beach in Cannes!!! It was such a fun, chaotic time and we're going to try to do the same tonight and tomorrow. Wish us luck.
